Why India?

India is rapidly emerging as a preferred global destination for electronics manufacturing, design, R&D and supply-chain localisation. Strong domestic demand, rising exports, PLI programmes, electronics component schemes, semiconductor investments and the global China+1 strategy are transforming India from a consumption-led market into a credible manufacturing and export hub.

India’s electronics production has grown nearly six-fold, from about US$22.8 billion in 2014–15 to about US$135.6 billion in 2024–25. With a national ambition to build a US$500 billion electronics ecosystem by 2030–31, opportunities are expanding across mobile devices, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, EVs, telecom, industrial, medical, defence, aerospace, semiconductors, components and EMS.

The next investment wave will be driven by localisation of sub-assemblies, components, capital equipment, semiconductors and high-value electronic parts. This creates attractive opportunities for global companies, investors and technology partners seeking manufacturing platforms, export-oriented facilities, joint ventures, acquisitions and strategic partnerships in India.

The Printed Circuit Board industry is central to this transformation. India’s PCB market is estimated at US$6.2–6.3 billion in 2024 and projected to grow at nearly 16% annually through 2030. Domestic PCB manufacturing is expected to approach US$14 billion by 2029–30, with longer-term potential of US$24.7–25.5 billion by 2033–34. Demand will be led by smartphones, 5G, EV battery systems, automotive electronics, defence, aerospace, medical devices, industrial automation and IoT, creating opportunities in multilayer, HDI, flexible, rigid-flex, metal-core, high-frequency PCBs, IC substrates and high-volume fabrication.

Asaya’s India market-entry strategy is structured and execution-led: market assessment, strategic proposition, location and cluster selection, incentive and regulatory evaluation, approvals and licensing, partner identification, sourcing, vendor development, project management and operational ramp-up. With deep experience in electronics, EMS and PCB manufacturing, Asaya helps clients convert India’s electronics growth into a practical, compliant and competitive manufacturing and services presence.
